Oak Barrel Wood Coasters with CNC Recesses and Laser Marking

Square coasters made from oak barrel wood have CNC-machined circular cup recesses and laser-marked artwork. The wood is finished with a clear coating and paired with a storage box.

These square coasters are made from oak barrel wood. A circular cup recess is machined into each centre by CNC machining, and the artwork is laser-marked on the recessed surface. The wood is finished with a clear coating and paired with a square storage box.

CNC Cup Recesses and Laser Marking in Oak

The main photograph shows two square coasters with visible wood grain. CNC machining creates a circular recess where the base of a cup can sit. The lettering artwork is laser-marked on the floor of the recess. A clear coating is applied after machining and marking. The coasters are used on a tabletop and can be kept in the storage box between uses. Outer dimensions, recess shape, marking artwork and finish can be discussed for the project. Another wood-surface marking example appears in the laser-marked wood-veneer display panels.

Recess Detail and Square Storage Box

The photograph shows one coaster beside its square storage box. The darker grain around the outside surrounds a lighter circular recess, with laser-marked lettering at the bottom. The CNC recess and the surface marking are visible together, while the box provides a place to store the finished coaster.
